Train Driver & Safe Work
Procedure Simplification

We worked closely with Metro Trains Melbourne to convert highly complex technical procedures into one simple guide to be used on the train driver’s smart phone.

Fleet Management Simplification &
Chain of Responsibility

Opposite have helped several clients simplify and make sense of their fleet management processes. This includes ensuring compliance with heavy vehicle legislation in the area of Chain of Responsibility.

Experience

STUDENT EXPERIENCE PROGRAM

Opposite provided a detailed assessment and summary of the current and future state student experience for the Goulburn-Ovens Institute of TAFE (GOTAFE).

PROJECT SIMPLIFY

Opposite were the successful recipients of a WorkSafe grant to bolster well-being through job design. This project examines the user experience to understand the day-in-the-life of operators in the transport and energy industries.

IGNITE CAPABILITY PROGRAM

Opposite were selected to partner with the Level Crossing Removal Program in developing a 6-month employee capability uplift program that involved a series of learning labs and coaching sessions–all customised with clever interactive activities.

OPPOSITE CONCEPTS

Opposite Concepts is our prototyping service that we use as a first step in our innovation process. Prototyping is useful for helping a customer visualise their thinking and explore possible solutions.

Opposite were the lead Human Factors specialists for one of Melbourne’s largest rail infrastructure project in decades.
We provided specialist support during the design, construction and completion stages of the project, working alongside the Alliance for the entire project lifecycle.

    Using a superhero theme, we will apply our gamification initiative along with our well-being initiative to create a well-being improvement game called Anti-Hero.

     

    Removing error from the healthcare sector will save lives and improve recovery. We will be examining new ways to achieve this using a customer experience lens.

     

    To improve user-centred design, we need to find better ways to get in the shoes of the users who will use our designs. This initiative will examine new technologies to improve our understanding of users, such as Virtual Reality, 3D models, and improved user self-assessments.

    We started this initiative to explore patient experience in the healthcare system. We are seeking organisations that might be interested in partnering with us.

     

    Originally our technology projects were called 'The Bat Cave' but since the Opposite mascot is a fish, we called it Fish Cave. This initiative will be our ongoing research and development arm to explore new technologies.

     

    Exploring the classic archetypes from stories to examine how this might improve the overall user experience and improve communications.

    Assuring major infrastructure projects requires extensive analysis and collaboration across stakeholders. This project will be examining a streamlined approach to achieve the safety and Human Factors requirements for these projects to save time and increased costs.

    This new initiative will first explore turning some of our services into card games. We are will then advance this into a digital game. Furthermore, we'll utilise the findings to enhance our current services.

    Well-being is more than diet and positive thinking. Opposite view this as a job and / or life design challenge. Our well-being initiative is examining contemporary approaches to bring well-being science into modern era through technology and user-experience design.
